Social justice is served up alongside lobster rolls and other summer treats at Evelyn’s Drive-In in Tiverton, and that includes a new summer concert series benefitting Singing Out Against Hunger, a charity that provides food to East Bay residents in need.
The concert schedule includes:
- Friday, July 15: Doug Mills, Margaret Ferri, Trial and Error, and Seamus Galligan & Mike Heffernan
- Friday, Aug. 19: Clara Maurer, Gary Fish, Darren & Chris
- Friday, Sept. 9: Makayla and the Little Necks, and Glass Bottom Boat
All shows start at 5 p.m. and will be held at Evelyn’s, located on scenic Nanaquaket Pond, at 2335 Main Road in Tiverton. Enjoy the music and check out Evelyn’s cooking-oil-powered VW Beetle and their garden Peace Pole, one of thousands raised around the world as a reminder to visualize and pray for world peace.
And of course let’s not forget about the food: in addition to lobster rolls named among the best in the U.S. by Coastal Living magazine, Evelyn’s serves traditional and innovative local seafood favorites, from chowder and clam cakes to lobster chow mein. Beer, wine and cocktails are also on the menu, and you can take your meal inside the air-conditioned dining room, out onto the waterfront deck, or go casual by ordering at the takeout window and enjoying your food and drinks in the picnic area.
