The RITravel to-do list definitely includes a meal at Ella’s Fine Food & Drink in Westerly sometime soon — and that sometime might just be Sept. 8, when the restaurant unveils its new art gallery with an event honoring their inaugural exhibitor, painter David Black.
“Ella’s is a true community restaurant and we are passionate about supporting those who make our corner of the world as special as it is, from local farmers and fishermen to artists and craftsmen,” said Jeanie Roland, chef/owner at Ella’s. “Creating a program to feature outstanding area artists allows us to enhance what we hope is an already unparalleled dining experience.”
The event honoring Black, who hails from nearby Stonington, Conn., will run from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. and feature snacks and cocktails specially prepared by Roland. In addition to beautiful downtown Westerly, Black’s work has been featured in galleries in New York and London; he’s also a former Tony award winning Broadway producer and author of three books.
