Attention art lovers: the next Newport Gallery Night is scheduled for March 9, with many of the city’s art galleries, museums, and cultural institutions open free to the public from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m.
The Newport Art Museum, for example, is continuing their popular exhibition “New Light Through Old Windows”, with photography by artists Lindsey Beal and Ron Cowie, along with a selection of original 19th-century photographic objects on loan from the Newport Historical Society. The Spring Bull Gallery’s “Hot and Cold” invitational features 11 artists with expertise in painting with a beeswax based mediums. (An opening reception for the exhibit will be held on Saturday, March 4, 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.; the public is invited.) DeBlois Gallery is opening a new non-juried open show with the theme, “What Scares Me Most? What Gives Me Hope?”
