Learning how to protect Rhode Island’s marine environment can be delicious as well as educational. This spring, summer, and fall, Eating with the Ecosystem and Eat Drink RI are bringing the Scales & Tales Mobile Food Boat — a skiff tricked out with a cooking-demo station — to local farmers’ markets and other events to teach about local seafood, fisheries, and ecosystems. Also scheduled are a trio of special multi-course meals pairing local seafood with wine, beers, and cocktails and coupled with presentations from Rhode Island fishermen and scientists.
The 2017 Scales & Tales dinner schedule is:
- Monday, June 12th: Statesman Tavern, Bristol with Chef Chris Kleyla
- Tuesday, Aug. 29: Nicks on Broadway, Providence with Chef Derek Wagner
- Monday, Oct. 23: Easy Entertaining, Providence with Chef Ashley Vanasse
